  • Adding an EnSmart commercial battery storage system to your business can be a smart investment, see why it’s worth it below:

  • The battery storage capacity (kWh) depends on your daily energy consumption (kWh) , peak load requirements, and the specific back up time goals (e.g., 1-hour vs. 2-hour backup).

    First you need to analysis your daily energy consumption and determine critical loads and peak usage time.

    A typical calculation is:  Daily usage ( kWh) x Autonomy time / Depth of Discharge =  Required Capacity ( kWh)

    Factors like system efficiency (85-95%) , 90% DoD - The percentage of battery capacity used. Lithium-ion (80–90%) allows deeper discharge- .and future load growth should also be considered.

    If your business has 50kWh daily consumption, you want 1 day of backup with a 90% DoD ( dept of discharge ) : 50kWh / 0.9 = 55.5 kWh
    55.5kWh / 0.9 ( Efficiency) = 61.7 kWh total battery storage capacity needed.

    For a 10 kWh daily usage, wanting 1 day of backup (autonomy), using a 90% (0.9) DoD lithium battery:
